The story behind Fate Sister

An artist’s journey. A shared purpose.

Fate Sister Music Publishing Ltd was founded in January 2017 by singer and songwriter Lera Ghanie. Her own experiences as an independent artist shaped a clear purpose: to help musicians and songwriters find support, build connections and have their music heard.

Before launching the company, Lera performed with Fate Sister, a band known for its distinctive image, energetic performances and funky sound. In 2009, the group performed on the main stage at the St Lucia Jazz Festival, sharing the bill with artists including Chaka Khan, Chicago, Patti LaBelle, George Duke and Beres Hammond.

Why we began

Talent deserves opportunity.

Through her work in the UK and the US, Lera saw how talented artists could struggle to progress when opportunities and support were hard to access. Fate Sister grew from the belief that creativity deserves encouragement, fair treatment and space to develop.

Our purpose is to champion diversity, support emerging talent and amplify voices that are too often overlooked. Inclusivity and artistic integrity sit at the heart of how we work.

What moves us

Originality. Soul. A story to tell.

We welcome music across genres and value songs with strong hooks, emotional depth and craftsmanship. Every submission deserves to be heard with care, respect and an open mind.

Through publishing, promotion, creative connections and opportunities for music in visual media, we aim to help artists take their next step. If your music carries originality, soul and a story worth telling, we would love to hear from you.
